Ashton Kutcher reveals why he’s betting on Artificial Intelligence: ‘A really beautiful thing’

Actor and investor Ashton Kutcher recently opened up about why he’s betting on Artificial Intelligence (AI). He believes that AI has the potential to be a “really beautiful thing” for humanity.
Kutcher, who is an early-stage venture capitalist at Sound Ventures, spoke with Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo about his investments in AI technology. He said that he sees it as a way to make life easier and more efficient for people.
“I think what we’re seeing right now is this incredible opportunity to use artificial intelligence in order to automate mundane tasks,” Kutcher said. “And I think if you can take those mundane tasks out of the equation, then you free up humans to do things that are much more creative.”
He also noted how AI could help improve healthcare by providing better diagnoses and treatments based on data analysis. Additionally, he highlighted its potential applications in education and transportation systems.
Kutcher went on to explain why investing in AI was important for him personally: “It’s really exciting because I feel like it gives us an opportunity as humans — not just investors — but as humans [to] create something really beautiful.”
The actor-turned-investor has been involved with several tech startups over the years including Airbnb, Uber, Spotify and Skype. His latest investment is a startup called Vicarious which uses machine learning algorithms to teach computers how to recognize objects from images or videos without being explicitly programmed by humans first.
Overall, Kutcher believes that investing in AI will have positive implications for society: “We should all be excited about what this means for our future…it’s going to open up so many opportunities across so many different industries.”
