GSA Launches AI Contest to Enhance Medical Care

The General Services Administration (GSA) is launching a competition to find innovative ways to use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies in order to improve medical care services. The GSA AI Challenge will award up to $50,000 for the best ideas that can be implemented within the federal government.

This challenge seeks solutions that leverage AI and machine learning capabilities to improve healthcare delivery systems, reduce costs, increase efficiency, or provide better patient outcomes. The goal of this competition is to identify new approaches that could help transform how medical care services are delivered across the federal government.

The GSA AI Challenge has been designed with input from experts in both public and private sectors who have experience working on projects related to healthcare delivery systems. This includes representatives from organizations such as the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Veterans Affairs (VA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and other agencies involved in providing health-related services.

In addition, industry partners such as Microsoft Azure Government Cloud Solutions Group have provided their expertise on how best utilize cloud computing technology when developing these solutions. These partners also helped develop criteria for judging submissions based on technical feasibility, scalability potentials, cost savings estimates and impactful results expected from implementation of proposed solutions into existing healthcare delivery systems within the federal government space.

“We’re excited about this opportunity because it allows us to tap into some of our nation’s brightest minds – those who understand how technology can be used most effectively – so we can make sure our citizens receive quality medical care at an affordable price,” said GSA Administrator Emily Murphy in a statement announcing the challenge launch.”We believe this competition will bring forth creative ideas that could revolutionize how we deliver health care services across all levels of government.”

Submissions must include detailed descriptions outlining proposed solution architecture along with estimated cost savings associated with implementation into existing healthcare delivery system infrastructure within federal agencies; however there is no limit on number or type of entries submitted by any individual or organization participating in this challenge . All entries must be received by August 31st 2020 via email at gsaai@gsa.gov . Winners will be announced shortly after submission deadline closes ,and awarded prizes ranging between $10K -$50K depending upon complexity/impactfulness/cost savings associated with each entry .

With increasing demand for more efficient yet effective ways delivering medical care services ,this initiative taken by GSA provides great platform not only innovators but also entrepreneurs alike come together share their knowledge while helping create better future generations through improved access quality health-care facilities . We look forward seeing what amazing ideas come out this competition!
