Tom Brady Sent Podcasters Cease & Desist Over AI Stand-Up Special

Tom Brady has been a household name for years, and his career is still going strong. The six-time Super Bowl champion recently sent out cease and desist letters to two podcasters who were planning on hosting an AI stand-up special featuring the quarterback.
The podcast, called “Tom Brady: A Stand Up Special” was set to feature an AI version of Tom Brady telling jokes about himself and his career. It would have been hosted by comedians Mike Lawrence and Josh Gondelman, but they received a letter from Tom Brady’s lawyers asking them not to proceed with the show.
Lawrence took to Twitter to share the news that he had received the letter from Tom Brady’s legal team, saying “We got a Cease & Desist from @tombrady ‘s lawyer today so unfortunately we can’t do our planned AI stand up special.” He also shared screenshots of some of the jokes that were written for the show which included lines like “I’m so old I remember when people used their phones just for talking” and “My biggest fear is getting tackled in my own backyard”.
Gondelman also tweeted about receiving the cease and desist letter, writing “Hey everyone – sorry to say this but it looks like we won’t be able to do our planned AI stand up special starring @tombrady after all! We got a Cease & Desist from his lawyer today.”
It appears that even though both comedians had good intentions with their project, they will have to respect Tom Brady’s wishes not to move forward with it. While fans may be disappointed at missing out on what could have been an entertaining show featuring one of football’s greatest players, it seems clear that Tom Brady wants control over how he is portrayed in public media outlets such as podcasts or television shows.|Tom Brady Sent Podcasters Cease & Desist Over AI Stand-Up Special|Sports|Outkick
