The US Chamber of Commerce is calling for the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, warning that it could have a disruptive effect on the economy. The organization has released a report outlining its concerns and proposing ways to ensure AI is used responsibly.
In its report, titled “Artificial Intelligence: A Call for Responsible Innovation”, the Chamber of Commerce argues that AI presents both opportunities and risks. It notes that while AI can be used to improve efficiency and productivity in many industries, it also carries potential dangers such as job displacement or privacy violations. As such, the organization believes there needs to be responsible oversight of how AI is developed and deployed.
The Chamber recommends several measures for regulating AI technology. These include establishing clear guidelines around data collection practices; ensuring transparency about how algorithms are designed; providing guidance on ethical considerations when using AI; creating an independent body to monitor compliance with regulations; and developing standards for assessing safety and security issues related to autonomous systems like self-driving cars or drones.
The report also calls for greater public engagement in discussions about how best to regulate AI technologies so they benefit society as a whole rather than just those who develop them or use them commercially. This includes encouraging dialogue between industry stakeholders, government officials, academics, civil society organizations, consumer groups and other interested parties so everyone can contribute their perspectives on this important issue.
Ultimately, the Chamber wants governments around the world to take action now before it’s too late – noting that if left unchecked these technologies could lead to significant economic disruption down the line if not properly regulated from day one. To this end they suggest setting up international forums where countries can share best practices regarding responsible innovation in order to ensure global standards are met across all jurisdictions involved in developing these new technologies.

That being said however at least steps have been taken towards addressing problem which hopefully will result more comprehensive set laws governing usage Artificial Intelligence moving forward thereby preventing future economic disruption caused by irresponsible implementation same .
