Baidu C-Suite Officer Resigns as Company Shifts Focus to ChatGPT Technology

Baidu, China’s leading search engine, has made a big bet on chatbot-style artificial intelligence (AI) after its chief strategy officer resigned.

Li Zhenyu, who had been with the company since 2011 and was responsible for Baidu’s AI strategy, announced his resignation on Tuesday. He will be replaced by Zhang Yaqin, president of Baidu’s new intelligent driving unit Apollo.

The move comes as Baidu is making a major push into AI technology in an effort to remain competitive in the Chinese market.
